Development is possibly the most important stage of the entire production process. You’ve probably heard the adage, ‘if it ain’t on the page, it ain’t on the stage’. Well development is where we take care of ‘the page’.
Traditionally, development meant nurturing creative ideas so they’re fit for the screen. At Element 26, we do things a little differently. Not only will we take care of the creative, but we also look into your video strategy. This is to ensure the strategy and the creative work reinforce each other.
During development we will take care of key documents such as the script and the storyboard. It is not uncommon for for project development to sit alongside some pre-production work as often the logistics of a production will influence the creative and vica-versa.
On the pre-production side of things, we handle everything from crewing and location scouting to equipment sourcing and pipeline management. Example documents from the pre-production phase include everything from the call sheet, to the shot lists and blocking charts.
